Meet Tommy, a spirited student from New Zealand pursuing his passion as a sports major at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). Tommy’s decision to choose UNCW was driven by the unique combination of its inviting campus, southern charm, coastal proximity, and vibrant sports culture. Among his fondest memories at UNCW is his orientation experience. It marked the beginning of his journey at the university, where he made friends and felt a sense of belonging within the Seahawk community. Tommy’s favorite thing about Wilmington, NC, is the beach. Whether it’s soaking up the sun or enjoying water sports, the coastal beauty never fails to captivate him. On campus, Tommy stays active through his involvement in water polo, swimming, and the International Student Organization (IOS). These activities not only fuel his passion for sports but also allow him to connect with others and enrich his university experience. As Tommy continues to thrive at UNCW, he embraces the opportunities to grow academically, personally, and athletically.
